Moths and other carpet beetles can cause some serious damage once they find a nice wool carpet. These carpet beetles are at their most destructive level when they reach the larvae stage; this is where they lay their eggs and feed on wool, silk and animal hair.

Your best defense against these little monsters is to keep all carpets and furniture clean (we know, easier said than done!). Spills and messes should be cleaned up right away; don’t give these spills time to soak into the deep fabrics of your oriental rug. So clean up spills quickly and keep all fabrics clean, insects have a hard time surviving in areas that are clean.
