How Often Should I Clean My Oriental Rug?

When it comes down to cleaning your oriental rug, the rule of thumb is usually three-five years; it also depends on where your rug is located. Is it located where it is exposed to a lot of soil?

You shouldn’t clean your rug yourself, you should have it professionally cleaned; you would hate to make a mistake or use the wrong cleaning product that causes permanent damage to your rug, causing you to purchase a new one!

Here at Persia Oriental Rug, our professional and experienced crew members, will effectively clean your rug, creating a brand new look! The founder and owner of the store, Michael Sadigh, has over 30 years of experience in the rug industry; he knows all the tricks and trades of cleaning a Persian Rug!

A lot of people also ask if they should vacuum their rug; vacuuming is a good thing for you rug, and should be done about once a week. Make sure you use a newer vacuum cleaner; one with a motor driven beaten bar. NEVER use a broom to clean; the sharp edges can do some serious damage.

All old, antique and thin well woven rugs, should be kept away from heavy foot traffic areas, and are best cleaned weekly with a carpet sweeper or suction-only vacuum cleaner.
